Description:

Client is seeking an experienced Ruby-on-Rails (RoR) developer. Current needs include both new application development and conversion of existing applications into the Ruby on Rails environment

Location: Madison, WI

Contract: 4 months w/ possible extension

Skills Required:

*Ruby on Rails

*Experience interacting with relational database systems using advanced SQL techniques

*Programming experience

*Previous or current involvement, via contribution of code, to open source

Mike Rozlog is Embarcaderos Product Line Sales Manager/Evangelist for the Americas.  He is focused on helping to make sure the products being developed by Embarcadero meet the expectations of CodeGears customers.  He has held various management positions over the past few years.  This is his second tenure supporting these products, prior to rejoining CodeGear Mr. Rozlog had 8 years with Borland and had a number of senior technical positions with them.  He spends a great deal of time thoroughly discussing and explaining all technical and business aspects of Embarcadero/CodeGear products and services to audiences and analysts worldwide. He has been published many times, and his latest collaboration is Mastering JBuilder from John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Designs and builds relational databases. Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data. Must be able to design, develop and manipulate database management systems, data warehouses and multidimensional databases.

The Position
The Application / Solution Architect will responsible for architecting, designing and building our next generation operational and business intelligence applications. It is a big job with lots of challenge. The right candidate will effectively collaborate with all levels of our organization, capture the business vision, functional and non-functional requirements needed to create application and database designs for operational and BI systems.  The candidate will be asked to coach others in the areas of operational and BI application and data architecture.

The Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a degree focused in Computer Science or Information Systems and experience designing agile flexible systems, Business Intelligence tools, ETL tools, and methodologies such as Rational Unified Process.  Experience with Object Oriented design and analysis and Java is a plus
