Description :
Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems. Enters commands into computer to run and test program. Reads computer printouts or observes display screen to detect syntax or logic errors during program test, or uses diagnostic software to detect errors. Replaces, deletes, or modifies codes to correct errors. Analyzes, reviews and alters program to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements

    Embed with JavaScript

    Summary:
    Charles Lowell will show why JavaScript is like no other major
    language when it comes to embedding into an application. Drawing
    from personal experience, Charles will present a treatment of the
    JavaScript object system and philosophy.

    He will demonstrate how to use JavaScript to implement a scriptable
    webservice and demonstrate the ability to add and remove properties to
    native java objects and classes.

    Speaker Bio:
    Charles Lowell is a software developer and consultant with over 10
    years of experience. An avid advocate and practitioner of both Test
    Driven and Open Source Development, his main focus since 2002 has been
    software user interfaces. This interest drove his involvement in
    Marathon, and later with Crosscheck.

    Detroit JUG meeting this week: JavaFX

    Jim Weaver will present on JavaFX at the Detroit JUG on Wednesday, April 15, from 6:30-8:30 pm. Jim’s been blogging and writing extensively about JavaFX since its release. And my advice is to just blindly turn right at the first opportunity in spite of the fact that you think that you’re heading down an alley. It’s really the right place!

    We are currently seeking a JAVA/J2EE desktop application developer who can succeed in a dynamic work environment where priorities change based on current business needs. Deadline driven project assignments and our iterative approach to development processes require a professional with excellent communication skills. Candidates must have experience working with Java, JEE, EJB, and Swing. Familiarity with the Eclipse IDE, JEE and OO design patterns, JBoss, and Delphi is also highly desired.

    Primary Responsibilities

    * Design, develop, and unit test Java/JEE components for an internal desktop application.
    * Analyze business requirements, documentation and technical specifications in conjunction with existing MIS staff and internal customers / user community.

    Qualifications

    * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
    * Two or more years of Java programming experience
