Title: Senior Java Developer Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Position Type: Permanent Industry: e-commerce
Relocation Assistance: Yes Work Status: Will transfer H1-B
Development Methodology: Agile/Scrum
- Daily Scrum Meetings/Standups
- Who is the Scrum master? Varies. Sometimes the team lead will assume this responsibility, other times it will be offered to anyone on the team who is interested in gaining this kind of experience.
- Team size: Varies, typically from 4 – 8.
- Typical structure of a daily scrum:
- Identify problems associated with a project.
- Team members may volunteer to solve coding issues/challenges that they find interesting.
- Share ideas with other team members and brainstorm solutions.
- Meetings are quick and the conversation is very focused. Candidates must therefore possess strong communications skills, a willingness to take on challenges and have a strong desire to improve programming skills.
- Scrum methodology provides all team members the opportunity to work on multiple aspects of a particular project and take on more complex and challenging work.
Core Skills:
- Strong Java SE skills, preferably through release 1.5.
- Solid SQL ability.
- Proficiency in Object Oriented design and programming.
- Experience with Object Relational Mapping (ORM), especially Hibernate.
- Experience using web presentation technologies such as JSP, JSF, Ajax, Jamon, Velocity, or FreeMarker. Use of web container technologies, especially Tomcat.
- XML and related technologies such as XSD, JAXB, XSLT, etc.
- Experience with large databases and systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience building web services, especially using the REST style.
- Development on Linux.
- JavaEE related experience such as EJB, Spring, etc.
- Experience with Maven, database schema definition and Oracle 10G
- Experience with JMS.
