Java Developer Openings Through TechStaff

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent major, or commensurate experience in software development
  • 2 – 6 years of web application development experience using object-oriented programming languages, or educational equivalent

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience with software design patterns
  • Experience with HTML/CSS/Java
  • Experience with Spring preferred
  • Experience with agile methodology and software engineering best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to set individual priorities and solve complex issues
  • Demonstrated communication skills, especially in the context of working with geographically distributed teams

Seeking Entry Level Programmer with Java experience (Ann Arbor, MI)

ELI is seeking to place an entry level programmer with Java experience in Ann Arbor.

Under the supervision of senior staff, this person will be responsible for working with the internal team to review, analyze, modify programming systems and implement PLM systems using the MatrixOne/ENOVIA platform. This person will utilize JAVA, TCL and MQL business models to code, test, and debug software applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities that will be asked of this candidate include, but are not limited to:

• Support and modify code for a Java based application

• Support and modify code for a web-application

• Build java based utility applications as needed

• Perform software upgrades

Skills

Some specific skills that we’d like the ideal candidate to have are:

• Required: Java, JSP, JavaScript, MS SQL Server, ORACLE, Tomcat, XML and XSLT. Good knowledge of object oriented programming concepts.

• Recommended: CSS, Web services development. Experience with working on Windows and UNIX platforms.

• Desired: eMatrix/MatrixOne/ENOVIA PLM programming and development experience.

We’re seeking someone who has a BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related program at a University and possesses 1-2 years of experience in the programming field preferably working with Java. Besides technical aptitude, we’re looking for a candidate who has excellent written and verbal communication and can work independently, as well as in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, software engineering or a related field and at least 5 years experience.  An additional 4 years experience can be substituted for Degree Requirement.
  • Must possess solid design and development experience in a JAVA J2EE web environment.
  • Must have experience with the following: Java, JEE, JDBC; Spring, JUNIT, JPA (hybernate) Web Services, XML/XSLT, JAXB.
  • Must be able to use Eclipse IDE, Java Compilers, Build Tools like Ant or Maven and troubleshoot build issues.
  • Must have RDMS experience (preferably with Postgresql).
  • Experience with Wicket highly advisable.
  • Must have strong problem solving skills and be able to work in a team environment, with mentors and collaborators available to help troubleshoot issues.
